We shall pioneer a movement to reinstate truth, where the media will work for the greater cause of uplifting humanity and restoring respect to the very planet on which it thrives.
What MIT-ISBJ stands for ?
True to the tradition of MIT Group of Institutions, ISBJ has set such goals for itself to make it a benchmark for media education and training in the country. At MIT we think of education beyond lucrative careers. At ISBJ, the training will be firmly rooted in the MIT ethos with due respect for Indian heritage and culture. ISBJ is committed to ensure a judicious blend of tradition and modernity on its way to becoming a centre of excellence in media education and training. Our enthusiasm to embrace the latest technologies will not be at the cost of our respect for values and traditions. We are committed to resist any kind of cultural/media imperialism. One of the central concerns of ISBJ is DEVELOPMENT and our focus is on communication for DEVELOPMENT, going beyond rhetoric and theories. Adequate attention has been given to the paradigm shifts in global media practices while formulating the curriculum for ISBJ's two year Post Graduate Programme in Mass Communication.
The value based education at ISBJ will provide its students with a springboard to exciting careers in the Media Industry. With the right kind of attitude they will act as agents of social change looking much beyond successful careers. We believe that change for the sake of change is not enough and media practitioners should realize that democracy does not make any sense without development and development does not serve any purpose until a share of the 'cake of development' goes to the poorest of the poor in the Society. This is where a responsible media person's genuine role comes into play. He/She has to become the voice for the voiceless. As social engineers, the media practitioners should represent and reflect the aspirations of the Society. As catalysts of social change, they can serve the cause of humanity ensuring peace and wellbeing of all on this Globe. Development has no meaning without peace and as a constituent of MIT Group of Institutions, ISBJ's motto is: “Tolerance, Harmony and Peace through the Mass Media”.
The ever vibrant and dynamic mass media sector is beckoning the bright , talented and professionally trained youngsters to join one of the most exciting and rewarding careers. The presence of transnational Media Conglomerates has made the Indian mediascape even brighter and it is time for the promising graduates to join MIT-ISBJ bandwagon to reach the Promised Land.
